Mole in Lawn

Moles

Scalopus Aquaticus

Moles dig tunnels through the soil to create burrows for the use of feeding, which causes the grass to dry out and die.

Ineffective Control

Insecticides, castor oil, chewing gum, grain or peanut mole poisons, do not cure the problem.

Facts

  • Eat more than their weight in earthworms daily
  • Moles are targeting earthworms not grubs
  • They prefer well-drainded, loamy soils

Control

  • Mole traps
  • Talapid (Bait worms)
